Progress of drawing Cardiff Castle
I started this drawing on 15th. March 2023 and, having not done any drawing work since the pandemic (2021) due to house/country re-location, I was really keen to find a suitable project. Having moved back to Wales, and specifically Cardiff, the obvious choice was the local castle. I spent many days taking photographs of the site and in the end I settled on this most iconic view. Due to the weather most of my pencil work was done in my studio at home, but when I was able, I sat with my easel on the ramparts of the castle.
This is a series of progress photos I took.
